In 1962, Luís Pereira and David Almeida, the grandfather and uncle of Luis Carvalho, the current managing partner, founded this family company, which was dedicated exclusively to the production of handkerchiefs. At the beginning of the 70’s, they integrated in the areas of weaving, stamping and confection of fabrics and scarves. It is through the slogan, “only saves who wears lenços poupa”, that in 1974 the company is registered with the designation that currently bears, Fábrica de Lenços Poupa, Lda.
We are a company that fits in the textile and clothing sector, located in Sequeirô, Santo Tirso, that during its 57 years of existence, has been affirming itself as a reference in the national textile sector.
It was in ancient Rome that appeared the first linen scarves called sudário, which had the function to clean the face and neck, as well as protect people from the cold.
