During the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, the scarf is considered as a complement to the costume.
In addition to the handkerchief and pocket, there are other types of scarves such as head, neck and “tabaqueiro”.
“Tabaqueiro” scarf was differentiated in society in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, such as use of snuff, dressed in dark tones with wide stripes.
